The IAC offers classes for those seeking to learn the English language, and for those who wish to prepare for U.S. Citizenship including the study of U.S. Civics.

English Speakers of Other Languages
- Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10AM to 12PM
- Tuesday and Thursday from 4PM to 5:30PM
- Saturday from 2PM to 3PM
*There is a $10.00 fee for the purchase of 2 lesson plan books
U.S. Civics Classes
- Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30PM to 7PM
- Saturday from 3PM to 5PM

The survey is taken every 10 years to determine the country’s population. Mayor Jon Michell and Secretary of State William F. Galvin visited the Immigrants’ Assistance Center (IAC) in the South End Monday to talk about the importance of all New Bedford residents participating in it.
