For the seventh consecutive year, members of the New Bedford chapter of the Portuguese American Police Association are donating turkeys along with all the Thanksgiving trimmings to the Immigrant Assistance Association at Casa da Soudade on Crapo Street for needy clients.
Each year, fundraising efforts have led to more and more families enjoying a holiday meal. After buying more than 70 turkeys two years go, the group donated 105 last year with the number rising to 150 this year.
